been set up with integral controls and security features to confine
the use of authorised facilities to authorised customers. The controls
are sufficient, effective and simple to maintain. Each person within
a company which is registered to use the Land Registry Direct Service
will be allocated a unique identifier (User ID) which the Land Registry
will use to verify each customer's access to ensure the highest levels
of security. Each customer will be prompted to enter their User ID and
some security details each time they connect to the service. At the customer end it
will be the customer’s responsibility to decide which of the company’s staff
should use the system and to control access to the designated terminals at their
location. The Land Registry reserves the right to terminate facilities if it
appears that the service is being misused. It is a security requirement
for this service that each individual who requires access to Land Registry Direct must have a unique User ID and
password of their own. It breaches the
Conditions of Use to share a User ID and password or to allow
another person to access the service via a User ID of someone who has
left the company. Generic User IDs are not permitted. What will it cost me to use Land Registry Direct? User IDs are free of charge.
The Land Registry will make no charge for setting up, amending or cancelling
User Ids Customers will be charged
the statutory fee for all transactions entered at their location. Fees

which is billed monthly. In many cases the fees for information obtained
